COLUMBIA, S.C. — When the South Carolina game with the Bulldogs of South Carolina State was moved to Thursday due to Hurricane Ian, that gave Carolina head coach Shane Beamer a bonus Saturday off from work.
So how did he spend his Saturday? Well, it was quite normal.
"Woke up Saturday morning, had a couple cups of coffee," Beamer said, ticking off his day's activities.
"Watched a little bit of (ESPN's College) GameDay. Went downstairs and jumped on the Peloton for a while. Came back upstairs and went and got a haircut. Came home. Watched football all afternoon. After the 12-noon game, went on a walk with the family for little over a hour. Came home, watched more football. Ordered Mexican food for dinner. Built a fire on the back porch and sat outside and watched football and went to bed about 11. That was it. It was awesome. I see what a normal Saturday is like when you are not working on Saturday.”
This Saturday will be spent in Lexington but a week from Saturday, it will be another off day for the coach and South Carolina will have an open date.
