GREER, S.C. — Jonathan Byrd has had some incredible moments in his lengthy career as a professional golfer which began in 2000.
He has five PGA Tour wins and in 2003, he finished tied for 8th in his Masters debut after his 2002 win in the Buick Challenge.
Byrd's last victory came in the 2011 but he continues to grind his way through a schedule that has seen him play four tournaments each on the PGA Tour and the Korn Ferry Tour.
The Spring Valley graduate and former Clemson All-American is in the Upstate for this week's BMW Charity Pro-Am, part of the Korn Ferry Tour.
For Byrd, this is a return to where his career was officially kickstarted as his first profession win came in the 2001 edition of this tournament.
He has also had the watchful eye of brother Jordan Byrd this week. The current Clemson head men's golf coach, Jordan made the short drive to The Thornblade Club in Greer where he reconnected with his brother but also was there to observe Jonathan's swing and provide any useful intel.
The BMW Charity Pro-Am tees off Thursday morning at The Thornblade Club in Greer and the The Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg.
