Jonathan Byrd is working the weekend at the BMW Charity Pro-Am

The Columbia product had to go low to make the cut for the Korn Ferry Tour event in the Upstate and that is what he did in his first two rounds.

GREER, S.C. — After turning pro in 2000, Jonathan Byrd recorded his first win as a professional golfer in the 2001 edition of the BMW Charity Pro-Am.

Since then, Byrd has put five PGA Tour wins on his resume/.

This weekend, the Spring Valley and Clemson product is back on the Korn Ferry Tour competing in the same event which gave him his first win after his All-America career in college ended.

The 46-year-old Byrd had to go low to make the cut which came in at 5-under par. Byrd put up a 3-under 68 in Friday's second round at The Thornblade Club in Greer to come in at 7-under for the tournament. Byrd posted a 67 in Thursday's round at the Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg,

Seth Reeves leads at 15-under with Greenville native Bill Haas lurking two shots back at 13-under par. Former Clemosn golfer Billy Kennerly is also at 13-under par at the halfway point.
