AUGUSTA, Ga. — Around 8:00 a.m., the gates were open at the Augusta National Golf Club as patrons made their way to the course to watch golf's best competitors fine tune their preparation for the first major of 2024.
Those who went to the driving range first saw a familiar site - Tiger Woods who over the years was one of the first golfers out on the course for his Monday practice. In fact, it was not unusual for Tiger to be on the course well before the gates were opened.
On this day, Tiger would be one of the first golfers to warm up on the driving range before heading out for a practice round. He had already been on the course on Sunday, which marked his final day of relatively private practice at the Augusta National Golf Club.
Dutch Fork graduate Dustin Johnson was also out in the morning wave. The 2020 champion, Johnson is looking to regain that form that saw him contend in 2019 before securing the Green Jacket the following year.
