Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Heathwood Hall basketball star A'Ja Wilson got a special send-off Wednesday before she goes to the McDonald's All-America Game.

Wilson, a senior, is considered the top basketball prospect in America, and has been named national player of the year by several groups. She averages 35 points a game.

Heathwood held a reception for her Thursday and gave her a framed congratulatory letter to commemorate being named to the Mcdonald's game. She'll play in that contest April 2nd in Chicago.

"It's an honor and a blessing to be named that because there's such great talent out in the world," Wilson said. "To be number one is huge for me and my family but also Heathwood. I love putting Heathwood on the map because that was kind of my main goal, to really kind of get our name out there and our state out there was really just a great thing for me."

Wilson is still mulling over where she will play college, although she has narrowed her list to South Carolina, Connecticut, North Carolina and Tennessee.
