LEXINGTON, S.C. — The Cardinal Newman volleyball team is now in position for a four-peat.
The Cardinals won their third consecutive state championship and fourth in the last five years after a 3-0 win over Porter Gaud in the 4A SCISA state championship game which was held at Lexington High School.
The Cardinals won the first game 25-21 before taking the next two games 25-12 and 25-18.
For Cynthia Dimapan, the Cardinal Newman head coach felt relief after the win which is understandable given the expectations placed on the program as one of the dominant programs in the SCISA ranks.
