Dutch Fork refuses to lose, Silver Foxes win another state championship

The Kelly Green Machine has now won eight state titles in the last nine seasons, defeating Summerville 35-21 in the 5A Division I state finals.

ORANGEBURG, S.C. — Maurice Anderson rushed for 146 yards and scored three touchdowns while receiver Boykin Bickley recorded seven receptions for 149 yards with two touchdowns as Dutch Fork defeated Summerville 35-21 in the 5A Division I state championship.

With the win, the Silver Foxes won their third consecutive state title and eighth in the last nine seasons under head coach Tom Knotts.

Now with nine overall state titles, Knotts has led Dutch Fork to every state championship game since Class 5A was created. Combined with seven state titles in North Carolina, Knotts now has a total of 16 state championships in the Carolinas combined. 

Defensively, Raleigh Salters led the way with seven tackles. Julian Walker had two sacks on the evening, both coming on Summerville's penultimate drive which forced a punt, leading to Anderson's third touchdown with 2:07 left which sealed the win for Dutch Fork.
