HOUSTON — After being named the Gatorade National Girls Basketball Player of the Year last week, Joyce Edwards accepted the award with an eye on Houston and a national all-star game that has a rich history.
On Tuesday night, Edwards scored 19 points to earn co-MVP honors with Sarah Strong as the East team defeated the West team 98-74 in the annual McDonald's All-American Game.
Edwards is the #2 ranked prospect for the Class of 2024 behind Strong from Grace Christian School in North Carolina.
Strong has not committed to a school, while Edwards is a South Carolina signee.
