LEXINGTON, S.C. — When Lexington captured the 5A state championship back in March, it was not unexpected given the Wildcats featured Gatorade Player of the Year, who at the time was headed to Texas but has since signed with South Carolina.
But Lexington basketball was more than a one-man show, as Jaxon Prunty was a more than capable contributor.
A number of mid-major Division I programs took notice but on Thursday night, Prunty took to social media to announce he has committed to the College of Charleston.
The Cougars have a new head basketball coach in Chris Mack, who has made the NCAA Tournament in nine of 12 seasons as a head coach at Xavier and Louisville.
The 6-6 Prunty will play small forward for the College of Charleston, which competes in the Coastal Athletic Association.
