Dutch Fork linebacker is the News19 Player of the Week

His love for football started in elementary school and he's played every season since.

IRMO, S.C. — Camden High senior middle linebacker Logan Freeman is known for his hard work and dedication, not only in the classroom but on the football field.

His love for football started in elementary school and he's played every season since, saying it's been a dream to be under the Friday Night Lights every week.

"I've played behind two really good seniors last year, I put in a lot of hard work and it's good to see that hard work is playing off," he said.

Coach Brian Rimpf said Freeman's hard work never goes unnoticed, as he has a steller GPA and a knack for defense on the field.

"He's our leading tackler, it's quite a combination," Rimpf said. "He's averaging 10 tackles a game at middle linebacker but also his intelligence, he lines everyone up, tells them where they're supposed to be and it's like having a coach on the field when he's out there."

Not only does he play football but also baseball and is involved in several extra curricular activities. Coach Rimph said it's a hustler mentality

"Just a well-rounded kid in the community, football field or classroom, very motivated," he said.

Freeman will graduate in the spring of 2025 and is eyeing several schools to study engineering, but as for now he's happy to be a Camden High Bulldog.

"Academics has always been important to me I've always thought it would take me further than football but I mean you learn a lot from being an athlete so I value both equally," he said.

Congratulations to senior Logan Freeman our News19 Player of the Week.
