Joyce Edwards is a News19 Player of the Week

The Camden star forward is one of the top players in the country for the class of 2024 along with putting up impressive numbers in the classroom.

CAMDEN, S.C. — Less than a week ago, Joyce Edwards was on the court for her final game with his Camden teammates.

Edwards played like a 5-star prospect as Camden won its second consecutive 3A state championship.

The USC signee is rated as the #2 prospect nationally and has been receiving her share of national attention. Edwards was named a Naismith High School Girls First Team All-American on Wednesday and she is one of five finalists for the  Jersey Mike's Naismith Trophy Girls High School Player of the Year.

In the classroom, Joyce is sporting a 5.277 grade point average and when she arrives at South Carolina, she will attend the Honors College with the goal of becoming an environmental lawyer, a career goal which would come in conjunction with what she hopes is a successful WNBA career.
