When the first depth of the 2018 regular season was released on Monday, a familiar name was listed as a starter at placekicker.
Blythewood graduate Greg Huegel, who missed all but three games last season due to a freak knee injury, has returned to full strength and won the competition in the preseason. Huegel says the coaches did not take it easy on him.
"Yeah, they're coaching me the exact same way," Huegel said.
"I'm honestly thankful for that because they're not looking at me like 'Okay, he's injured. Maybe he's not completely back yet' when I was trying to get back. From day one, whenever I started kicking again, it was like I was never injured and that was pretty cool because it made just me push myself harder to get back."
