LA CROSSE, Wis. — It was a busy Saturday evening at the Lexington County Baseball Stadium where the Blowfish hosted the Catawba Valley Stars on USO Night.
Prior to the Blowfish taking the field, a softball game featuring deputies from Richland County and Lexington County was held. The spirited event was billed as the "Battle of the Badges" and proceeds from the game went to the USO of SC.
Even though the Lexington County Sheriff's Department had home county advantage, Richland County would prove to be road warriors in a 5-0 victory over Lexington County.
The United Service Organization was created in 1941 to serve the men and women in the U.S. military, and their families, throughout their time in uniform.
