Mike Williams' stat line in Saturday's preseason game against the Seahawks - 1 reception, 25 yards, 1 touchdown.
The Lake Marion product who won a national championship had an injury plagued rookie season in 2016 as a back injury limited him to just 10 games of action. His stat line was 11 receptions, 95 yards, 0 touchdowns. His longest catch of 2017 was 20 yards.
He has already exceeded his longest career catch, scored his first touchdown and more importantly - Williams' back is healthy and he's ready to show why the Chargers chose him with the seventh overall selection in the 2017 NFL Draft.
Williams suffered a herniated disc in his back which kept him out of OTAs and training camp in the summer. Five games into the season, he made his debut but a knee injury kept him out of one more game.
But 2018 could bode well for Williams who was one of the top receivers in the country and played a key role in the Tigers' winning the 2017 national championship game. Now, Williams is hoping 2018 will be the year he establishes himself as a go-to receiver for the Chargers.
