ATLANTA — The Atlanta Braves will soon return to Xfinity.
The announcement was made Monday after a deal was reached between Comcast, the owner of the Xfinity cable service, and Diamond Sports Group LLC, the parent company of Bally Sports, the channel that broadcasts the Braves games.
Effective Aug. 1, subscribers to Comcast’s Xfinity Ultimate TV package in Bally Sports markets will re-gain access to live, local MLB, NBA and NHL games, as well as pre- and post-game content on Diamond’s regional sports network channels, according to CNBC. Xfinity Ultimate TV users will also be able to stream content through the Bally Sports app.
The service was cut off earlier this year when the dispute between the companies began, affecting Xfinity customers nationwide.
"Entering a new carriage agreement with Comcast, our third largest distributor, is a critical step forward in our restructuring effort, and we are pleased that fans will again be able to access broadcasts of their local teams through Xfinity," David Preschlack, CEO of Diamond Sports said in a press release.
