A Throwback Weekend in Darlington brings back memories as teams of today honor the drivers of yesterday

A look at how Midlands native Jordan Anderson and his team took part in the theme of honoring NASCAR's rich history while turning laps at the Darlington Raceway

DARLINGTON, S.C. — It is always special for Jordan Anderson to bring his two-car Xfinity Series operation to his home track, the Darlington Raceway.

Jordan Anderson Racing Bommarito Autosport fields the #31 and #27 Chevrolets, and with it being a Throwback Weekend, Jordan's two cars took part in the theme of honoring those who paved the way for today's superstars to shine.

The #31 Funkaway, driven by Parker Retzlaff, had a very familiar paint scheme. The Kelly Green colors used by Harry Gant during his Skoal Bandit days made a return to the track. Gant, who is a nominee for the NASCAR Hall of Fame Class of 2025, put pen to sheet metal this week as he autographed the right side of the #31 ride.

Anderson would watch his two cars stay in the top 20 in the early stages of the race before a power steering issue relegated Retzlaff to a 31st-place finish in the Crown Royal Purple Bag Project 200.  Burton, behind the wheel of the #27 Capital City Towing Chevy, would bring his machine home in 16th place.
