MEMPHIS, Tenn. — After navigating his way through a rookie campaign, of 2023-2024, former Ridge View and South Carolina forward GG Jackson is looking forward to his second year as he expects to see marked growth in his game.
As a two-way player last season, GG spent time in the G-League and with the Memphis Grizzlies and when the final tally was in, GG had played in 48 games, averaging 14.6 points for the team that chose him with the 45th overall selection in the 2023 NBA Draft.
The 19-year-old Jackson had quite the eventful career in high school, moving up to the top of the recruiting rankings for the Class of 2023 before reclassifying for the Class of 2022 after helping Ridge View win back-to-back state championships.
After some very public growing pains at South Carolina, the spotlight continues to shine brightly on Jackson who admits he is doing a better job of handling the intense scrutiny.
It also says a lot that Jackson does not want the bright moments of his rookie season to be his ceiling, looking to set new standards for himself as he gears up for year two in the NBA.
