The Charlotte Bobcats officially became the Charlotte Hornets Tuesday.
Charlotte was home to the Hornets from 1988 to 2002, but the team moved to New Orleans and eventually became the Pelicans.
The team announced its intention to change from the Bobcats to the Hornets in 2013, and then-commissioner David Stern immediately approved the change. On May 20th, the Bobcats era came to an end.
The Hornets' classic teal and purple color scheme is back, though the logo is has changed from the original.
