Florida head coach Kevin O'Sullivan is back in familiar territory

Before he began his long tenure in Gainesville, Kevin O'Sullivan was a Clemson assistant under Jack Leggett

CLEMSON, S.C. — Kevin O'Sullivan is in his 18th season as the head baseball coach at Florida where he led the Gators to the 2017 national championship.

But O'Sullivan learned how to run a program by watching Jack Leggett.  He  was on the Clemson staff from 1999-2007, serving as pitching coach for the entire time. He was promoted to associate head coach in 2002 and after the Tigers' College World Series appearance in 2006, O'Sullivan was lured to Gainesville.

In 2002, Leggett's staff consisted of Sullivan, current Vanderbilt head coach Tim Corbin and current Clemson head coach Erik Bakich.

This weekend, three of those four will be at Doug Kingsmore Stadium as Leggett is current on Bakich's staff at Clemson serving as special assistant to the head coach with specific duties of player, staff and program development.

Sullivan talks about the impact Leggett had on his coaching career, while Bakich went into detail about working in the same office as Corbin and O'Sullivan.
