CLEMSON, S.C. — For the second weekend in a row, a former Clemson assistant baseball coach is returning to Doug Kingsmore Stadium.
Kevin O'Sullivan, who worked under Jack Leggett from 1999-2007, will bring the Florida Gators to the Upstate after they won the Stillwater Regional with Monday's 4-2 victory over Oklahoma State.
Clemson head baseball coach Erik Bakich was on Leggett's staff with O'Sullivan in 2002.
Last week, former Clemson assistant Tim Corbin brought Vanderbilt to the Clemson Regional where they were 0-2 with losses to Coastal Carolina and High Point.
The Tigers earned their first regional title since 2010 and are seeking their first trip to the College World Series since that 2010 campaign.
Florida is seeking its second consecutive trip to the College World Series after finishing in the runner-up spot in 2023.
Clemson and Florida last played in 1983 and have only played two games at Clemson, both in 1930.
