CLEMSON, S.C. — The Clemson basketball team cruised to a 90-49 victory over Augusta in its lone exhibition of the preseason on Wednesday night in Littlejohn Coliseum.
The Tigers were led by Chauncey Wiggins who scored a team-high 18 points on an efficient 8-of-12 from the floor. Chase Hunter added 15 points and was a perfect 6-of-6 from the field, including a team-best four assists.
Clemson’s bench scored 42 points, led by Christian Reeves and Myles Foster who totaled 11 and 10 points, respectively. Reeves nearly added a double-double, finishing with eight rebounds.
Asa Thomas, who redshirted last year and underwent shoulder surgery, totaled 11 minutes, and scored eight points on three baskets, including two triples.
With the score knotted 12-12 over eight minutes into the contest, the Tigers went on a 31-9 run to close the half and lead the Jaguars by 22 at the break.
More of the same in the second half from Clemson, as it pushed its lead to a game-high 44 points toward the end of regulation to eventually win 90-49.
The Tigers return to the court on Monday, November 4 when they host Charleston Southern for the 2024-25 season opener.
