LOS ANGELES — Clemson and Alabama normally meet on the football field usually with a national championship on the line.
But it is the two basketball teams who will square off Saturday night in Los Angeles in the Elite Eight. The Tigers had just one previous to the Elite Eight and that came in 1980. Clemson has never been to a Final Four but Brad Brownell has his team one win away from a historic first.
This will be a rematch from late November when the Tigers won in Tuscaloosa 85-77.
A lot has changed since that game but both teams have found some March Madness magic and they will be on a collision course Saturday night in the City of Angels.
