CLEMSON, S.C. — Clemson head basketball coach Brad Brownell recently referred to the state of the college basketball game as "shark infested waters" in reference to coaches and AAU coaches from the outside trying to lure his players away from Clemson.
Perhaps Brownell had an idea what was coming in reference to sophomore forward RJ Godfrey who has entered the transfer portal.
Godfrey averaged a little more than six points per game and was second on the team with 22 blocks this past season. But he played a key role in the Tigers advancing to the NCAA Elite Eight as he hit critical free throws in the win over Baylor.
He was considered to be a major piece in the Tiger's 2024-2025 roster with the expected departure of P.J. Hall to the NBA Draft.
Godfrey is the third player from this year's roster to enter the transfer portal following forward Jack Clark and guard Josh Beadle. the Cardinal Newman graduate.
