CLEMSON, S.C. — Clemson junior cornerback Nate Wiggins has announced he is declaring for the NFL Draft and will opt out of the bowl game.
During his career in Tiger orange, Wiggins recorded 50 tackles (3.0 for loss), 24 pass breakups, three interceptions (including two returned for touchdowns), two forced fumbles, a sack and a blocked field goal over 34 games (18 starts).
A first-team All-ACC selection this season, Wiggins posted 25 tackles (one for loss), a team-high nine pass breakups, two forced fumbles, one sack and a team-high-tying two interceptions (one of which he returned 46 yards for his second career touchdown) over 10 games which inckuded seven starts.
The 6-2 Wiggins is rated as one of the top prospects in the NFL Draft could very well be the first cornerback taken in the April draft.
