Clemson continues Gator Bowl practice in Jacksonville

The Tigers face Kentucky Friday in the Gator Bowl with a chance to post a five-game winning streak to close out the season.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Clemson is just a couple of days away from closing the book on an eventful 2023 season. The Tigers worked-out at a high school in Fernandina Beach, Florida on Tuesday as they try for a ninth win on the season

For the second consecutive bowl game, Clemson is facing an SEC team. Last year, the Tigers struggled against Tennessee in the Orange Bowl which marked the first start at quarterback for Cade Klubnik.

Clemson is hoping 2023 in Florida will result in a better outcome as they face Kentucky in Friday's Gator Bowl.

While the Tigers are focused on closing out 2023 in style, offensive coordinator Garrett Riley has an eye on 2024 as this latest signing class has a number of playmakers who should add some firepower to the offense next fall.

“Can’t wait. I feel like we’ve hit a home run with a lot of these guys and really addressed needs that were going to need for this upcoming season,” Riley said this week.

“Big thing is a lot of these guys are coming in in January. To really be able to hit the ground running and insert them into our team and see what that’s going to look like in spring football is going to be a huge addition for us,” Riley said.
