Clemson, SC (WLTX) - The Clemson Tigers are ranked number one in the first College Football Playoff rankings.
The selection committee released their survey Tuesday night. It is the first time Clemson has been ranked number one in any college football poll since the end of the 1981 season, when they won the national championship.
Clemson was followed by LSU, Ohio State, and Alabama as the four teams that could potentially be the college football playoff.
The rankings will be updated every week until the week following the conference championships, when the list will be official and the playoff participants are determined.
