LEXINGTON, S.C. — Cam Scott has called an audilble that will not take him to Austin.
The 4-star shooting guard prospect from Lexington High School has been granted his release by Texas from his national letter of intent.
Scott committed to the Longhorns last Augusta and signed with that program in December. He chose Texas over Auburn, Oregon, Ole Miss and South Carolina.
At the time, Scott said South Carolina was his #2 choice behind Texas but now with the Longhorns out of the picture, there will be intense speculation as to where the 6-5 Scott will land.
Back in March, Scott helped Lexington win its first state championship since 2000. He is the defending two-time Gatorade Player of the Year,
