Reigning national player of the week Lauryn Taylor leads Francis Marion to a Homecoming win

The Spring Valley graduate recorded a double-double in FMU's 100-55 win over King University on Homecoming in the Pee Dee.

FLORENCE, S.C. — Spring Valley graduate Lauryn Taylor scored 23 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to lead Francis Marion University to a 100-55 win over King University Saturday on Homecoming for the Florence institution.

Taylor is coming off a week where she was named Conference Carolinas Player of the Week and the D2CIDA national women's player of the week after she recorded an NCAA recorded 43 rebounds on Feb. 15 in a win at home over North Greenville.

Francis Marion improves to 19-7 overall and 14-3 in conference action.  The Patriots will conclude their regular-season schedule on Wednesday at home against Belmont Abbey College.  The Senior Night contest will tip-off at 5:30 p.m.
