ATHENS, Ga. — After two years in Clemson, RJ Godfrey entered the NCAA transfer portal and now his destination has been unveiled.

The 6-8, 225-pound forward is transferring to Georgia where his father, Randall, was a standout linebacker for the Bulldogs from 1992-1995 before an 11-year NFL career.

Godfrey is a graduate of nearby North Gwinnett High School which is roughly an hour's drive from Athens.

This past season, Godfrey averaged 6.1 points and 3.4 rebounds for the Tigers who advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight. Godfrey hit four clutch free throws in Clemson's win over Baylor. In the season-ending loss to Alabama, Godfrey scored 12 points as he was really playing well for Brad Brownell off the bench. Now, he will come to Georgia as a seasoned two-year veteran with NCAA experience.
