BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The matchups are set for the 2024 SEC-ACC Men's Challenge, as announced by ESPN on Wednesday.
South Carolina will travel to Boston College on Tuesday, Dec. 3 in what is just the second ever trip to Chestnut Hill. The Eagles lead the all-time series 2-1.
The two schools first squared off in the semifinals of the 1971 Quaker City Classic in Philadelphia with the Gamecocks winning that first meeting, 86-64, at The Palestra on Dec. 28, 1971.
Then the Gamecocks and Eagles played a home-and-home during the 2009 and 2010 seasons with the Eagles winning both matchups.
For Clemson, it will be a battle of the big cats as the Tigers will host Kentucky as another true blue blood of college basketball will be in the Upstate. The Tigers and Wildcats haven't played since 1997 and only three times since 1979 with Clemson winning two of those three.
The Tigers are coming off the program's second-ever Elite 8 appearance with the first coming in 1980.
