COLUMBIA, S.C. — Charles Simmons threw touchdowns as Benedict College rallied from a 14-0 first half deficit to defeat Savannah State 35-27 Saturday afternoon on Senior Day at Charlie W. Johnson Stadium.
The Tigers honored 12 senior players who were competing in their final game in a Benedict College uniform.
Simmons was 21-of-38 passing for 192 yards with the three touchdowns and one interception. Shatarius Williams was the main passing threat for the Tigers as he had six receptions for 110 yards and two touchdowns.
This game marked the final game of the first season of the Ron Dickerson, Jr. era at Benedict College who will finish 2024 with a 4-6 overall record, 3-3 in the SIAC.
