BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — If Darius Rucker has not played a concert in the noon hour, he will next month.
The three-time GRAMMY award-winning musician will headline the T-Mobile SEC Championship Concert on Saturday, Dec. 2, ahead of the SEC Championship game which kicks off at 4:00 p.m. at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
This announcement from the SEC came one day after it was announced Rucker's band, Hootie and the Blowfish, are scheduled to perform at the Colonial Life Arena next August.
Rucker will perform in Building B of the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta during the Dr Pepper SEC FanFare. The concert kicks off at 12:00 p.m. ET and is a part of the Dr. Pepper SEC FanFare which features games, interactive events, pep rallies and displays for fans of all ages.
Rucker told SECSportscom, "I always say there are two times of the year: football season and waiting for football season. I've loved getting to be part of College GameDay all year and I can't think of a better way to finish off the season than at the SEC Championship. See y'all there!"
The Dr Pepper SEC FanFare is free and open to the public with no ticket required on Friday, Dec. 1 from 1:00 - 7:00 p.m. ET and Saturday, Dec. 2 from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. ET.
