Former Blythewood standout is now officially in the Furman program

Joshua Burrell spent three years in the Florida State program, seeing limited action.

GREENVILLE, S.C. — Furman football officially announced the addition of three graduate transfers, one of whom is Joshua Burrell who transfers to Furman from Florida State.

The Blythewood product was a Shrine Bowl selection and the fourth-ranked prospect in the state for the Class of 2021. 

Burrell played in nine games this past season in Tallahassee, but did not record any receptions. He played in the first nine games of the 2022 season after appearing in two games in his freshman season of 2021.

Furman, coming off a 10-3 campaign highlighted by a Southern Conference championship and quarterfinal round appearance in the FCS playoffs last fall, kicks off the 2024 season on Aug. 31 at Ole Miss.
