There is a major change within the South Carolina State athletics department.
Keshia Campbell has resigned as the interim athletics director, a position she has held since August of 2022.
We are being told she was offered the job but turned it down. Her last day was last Friday.
Campbell has deep ties to the school which is her alma mater. She is in the school's athletics hall of fame and is a former MEAC player of the year in basketball.
She previously served as head women's basketball coach at the school, was athletics director for Hampton University and worked as director of championships for the NCAA.
So now with two games left in his legendary career, S.C. State head football coach Buddy Pough has been appointed interim athletics director. Pough is retiring at the end of this season so his final November as a head coach will find him holding down two jobs.
Even if he were not acting AD, it was expected Buddy would have imput into the hiring of the next coach. Also, one can expect a push from a number of former Bulldog athletes for Pough to get that job full-time. But for the meantime, Pough will be the interim athletics director.
