ATLANTA — Benedict College has been picked to finish fifth in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, based on voting by the league head coaches and sports information directors.
The Tigers are the two-time defending SIAC champions under former head coach Chennis Berry who is now in charge of the S.C. State program.
Ron Dickerson, Jr. is now at the helm of the Tiger program after a spring with a limited roster, the coach and his staff have spent the last few months shoring up depth for the team as it gears up for the 2024 season.
Two players who will be counted on heavily this year are defensive lineman Aaron Miller and kicker Lucas Wynn. Miller has been named to the Preseason All-SIAC First Team while Wynn lands on the second team.
Allen University also has a new head coach in Cedric Pearl. The Yellow Jackets ended up 11th in the preseason poll.
Running back Beau Harrington and offensive lineman Terrence Jarrett from Allen were named Preseason Second Team All-SIAC.
