COLUMBIA, S.C. — Even after Gilber Edmond transferred to Florida State after three seasons in the Gamecock program, he was still in contact with a number of USC players.
A family situation was the main reason he transferred to FSU but with one season of colleg eligibility left, everything has worked out for Edmond to return to the Carolina camp.
The edge rusher was part of the parade of transfers who met the media on Thursday and Edmnd talked about how glad he is to be back in familiar territory.
“One thing I learned about myself is that you have to go after what you want,” Edmond said.
“Me coming back here, most people probably would’ve had too much pride to go back to the school that they transferred from. Me, knowing that this is where I want to be, knowing I wanted to end where I started at, it was just me learning that you don’t always have to be the prideful guy. Just go after what you want.”
Judging by the warm reception he has received from teammates and coaches, he is getting what he wants by coming back to where his college career began.
