COLUMBIA, S.C. — After a 10-0, seven-inning victory over Kentucky on Sunday, South Carolina recorded its second consecutive run-rule win with a 15-2 win over East Tennessee State Wednesday night at Founders Park.
Carolina hit four home runs and used an eight-run fourth inning to secure the win.
ETSU scored two runs in the first, but Carolina answered with four runs in the bottom of the frame, two on Ethan Petry's 2-run home run, his 16th home run of the season.
In the fourth inning, home runs by Kennedy Jones, Dalton Reeves and Cole Messina were a part of the eight-run effort in that frame.
Jones drove in four runs while Messina was 2-for-3 with three RBI. Petry also had three RBI.
Jake McCoy (1-0) picked up the win with two strikeouts in two innings.
