CLEVELAND — South Carolina enters the Final Four as the only undefeated team in all of college basketball.
The Gamecocks are 36-0 and hope to leave Cleveland 38-0. The last women's team to record a perfect season was the 2015-2016 UConn squad which went 38-0.
Head coach Dawn Staley had to replace all five starters from last year's Final Four team and perhaps that is why she says she is "shocked" that this team is two wins away a perfect season.
The Gamecocks will try to go 37-0 on the season when they face N.C. State Friday night at 7:00 p.m. at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. The winner faces the UCONN-Iowa winner Sunday at 3:00 p.m. for the national championship.
