LaNorris Sellers brings the heat to Segra Park

The South Carolina quarterback threw out a ceremonial first pitch prior to the game between the Columbia Fireflies and Carolina Mudcats

COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers has been keeping busy this summer with offseason workouts, meetings and his academic workload.

But it will not be long before the calendar turns to August and that signals the start of preseason camp as the Gamecocks enter year four of the Shane Beamer era.

Sellers is in his second season in the system, and he has been carrying the label of QB1 since the end of spring practice. But that competition will certainly ramp up in the preseason. In the meantime, Sellers spent his Thursday evening at an NIL event with The Garnet Trust.

The South Florence product held a meet-and-greet with fans where he posed for pictures and signed more than a few autographs. That session came after he threw out the final ceremonial first pitch of the evening as the Columbia Fireflies hosted the Carolina Mudcats.

The home team would fall 9-5, but for those fans who were on the left field concourse, they came out winners. They had a chance to see #16 without his gear and spent a few moments wishing him well for this upcoming 2024 campaign.
