COLUMBIA, S.C. — He was a four-star prospect from Camden High School and was named the state's Mr. Football last December. Xzavier McLeod chose the Gamecocks over Georgia and Florida but seven games into the 2023 season finds McLeod is no longer a member of the Gamecock program.

McLeod has been dismissed from the team for an unspecified violation. The 6-5, 284-pound defensive tackle played in four games this season. He did not make the trip this past weekend to Missouri in what head coach Shane Beamer called a "coach's decision".

McLeod had registered one assisted tackle and against Furman he recorded an interception off a deflection.
