COLUMBIA, S.C. — LaNorris Sellers certainly looked like he is ready to be the Gamecocks' starting quarterback.

His second year of running the USC playbook has made him more knowledgeable as opposed to last year when as a freshman he admittedly was just running plays on the fly without a lot of understanding why they work they way they do.

The South Florence product had a very efficient spring game, leading the Garnet to a 17-0 win over the Black team.

Sellers led the Garnet squad on a 75-yard scoring drive on its first possession as he completed all four of his passes on the drive for 38 yards. He also rushed three times for 27 yards, including a 13-yard scramble into the end zone to open the scoring.

Sellers led another 10-play, 49-yard scoring drive that ended with a Peyton Argent 22-yard field goal as time expired in the first half, giving the Garnet team a 10-0 lead over the Black team.

Sellers, who was named the Joe Morrison Offensive Player of the Spring, finished the night completing 9-of-11 passes for 70 yards and rushing five times for 38 yards.

The Garnet team added another score when Dante Reno connected with tight end Maurice Brown II on a 15-yard touchdown pass with seven minutes remaining in the contest.

Davis Beville, a transfer from Oklahoma, led the Black team's passing attack as he completed 8-of-10 passes for 46 yards. He was sacked four times.

The Garnet defense was led by Bryan Thomas Jr., who recorded seven tackles, including 2.5 sacks. The Black team’s defense was led by Dylan Stewart, who posted three tackles for loss.
