COLUMBIA, S.C. — For the second time this year, the South Carolina athletics department has been hit with a fine after violating the league's access to competition area policy.
Following the Gamecocks' upset win over #10 Texas A&M Saturday night, fans left their seats inside Williams-Brice Stadium. They stormed the field, basking in the team's upset win over the Aggies, who came into the contest undefeated in SEC play.
The Southeastern Conference fined USC $250,000 because this is the second offense in 2024. In January, the first violation of that policy came after the men's basketball team upset a Kentucky team that was ranked sixth at the time.
Per the league policy, South Carolina must pay Texas A&M the $250,000.
