AUBURN, Ala. — The 11th seeded South Carolina softball team had a 2-1 lead on three-seed and ninth-ranked Texas A&M heading into the bottom of the seventh.
But the Aggies' Koko Wooley would deliver base hit with the bases loaded to lift Texas A&M to a 3-2 win over South Carolina in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament.
Zoe Laneaux led the USC offense with a 2-for-3 day, including a home run in the third which gave USC a 2-1 lead.
Gamecock freshman Sage Mardjetko would throw six innings, striking out a career-high nine batters, while scattering five hits. Alana Vawter (16-12) took the loss, allowing one run in an inning of work.
South Carolina will wait to hear its name called Sunday night during the NCAA Tournament Selection Show.
