COLUMBIA, S.C. — Coming out of Westwood High School, Arden Conyers had a number of offers from mid-major D1 programs but his only Power 5 offer came from South Carolina.
Conyers ended up signing with the Gamecocks and spent this past season redshirting in an effort to get stronger in preparation for the physical nature of the college game.
The former News19 Player of the Week used last season wisely and so far in summer workouts, head coach Lamont Paris has been impressed with the state of Arden's game.
In fact, Paris acknowledges that people in the Midlands may know who Conyers is, but the coach expects in time, those who cover the SEC in other states will know who Arden Conyers is.
