Gamecock tennis player Elise Mills is reflecting on her journey from Mid-Carolina High School to the University of South Carolina

Elise Mills has been a part of the South Carolina tennis program for five years and she will be on the court in Raleigh this weekend for the NCAA Regionals.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — The South Carolina women's tennis team is getting ready to hit the court in Raleigh to play in the NCAA Regionals; Carolina is making its 29th consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament and will face Old Dominion on Saturday.

This is the final post-season appearance of graduate student Elise Mills.

Growing up in Prosperity, Elise was a lifelong Gamecock fan who attended USC's home matches regularly even before her high school career at Mid-Carolina began.

A participant at USC's summer tennis camps, Elise's talent on the court was spotted by Gamecock head coach Kevin Epley, who knew she was more than capable of being a solid contributor to his program.

Five years later, Elise has consistently performed at #4 singles and #2 doubles for the Gamecocks in this, her final season in Carolina colors.

With regional play beginning, Elise hopes to do her part to extend South Carolina's season. The #19 Gamecocks are coming off a 4-3 loss to 14th-ranked Florida in the SEC Tournament, a sign that the Gamecocks are more than capable of coming out of the Raleigh Regional.
