COLUMBIA, S.C. — It is not just speed which will be showcased at this week's NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
Strength and technique will be showcased in the throwing competitions and that is where senior Dylan Targgart looks to earn a podium finish.
The Michigan native finished as the bronze medalist at the NCAA Indoor Championship, throwing 19.95m (65-5.5) to earn First Team All-American honors.
This week he will be on the big stage in Eugene, Oregon joining his Gamecock track and field teammates as they will all be chasing gold medals. While the South Carolina sprinters and hurdlers generate most of the headlines, Targgart hopes to work his way into the news cycle with a strong showing in the Pacific Northwest.
