Columbia, SC (WLTX) - The University of South Carolina's baseball stadium may get a new name very soon.
USC's Board of Trustees is set to discuss the matter of naming rights in executive session during Friday's meeting.
The facility has been known simply as Carolina Stadium since it opened in 2009. The former field had been called Sarge Frye Field.
If it's approved, it wouldn't be the only USC athletics facility to have a corporate name. The basketball stadium is called Colonial Life Arena because of a longstanding contract with Colonial Life Insurance.
