Columbia, SC (WLTX) - South Carolina Gamecocks legend Sterling Sharpe will now be a member of the College Fooball Hall of Fame.
He was among 14 former players announced as inductees at a ceremony Thursday afternoon.
Sharpe starred at USC from 1983 to 1987, where he set then school records in most receiving categories, amassing 169 career receptions for 2,497 yards and 17 touchdowns. At one point, he caught a pass in 34 straight games.
Sharpe's jersey number, two, was retired by the school.
After college, Sharpe played seven years for the NFL's Green Bay Packers, making the Pro Bowl five times. He hauled in 65 touchdowns before his career was cut short by injury.
Since his playing days, he's worked as an NFL tv analyst.
Sharpe is just the second Gamecock in the College Football Hall of Fame, joining running back George Rogers.
Joining him in this year's group are LaDainian Tomlinson, linebacker Derrick Thomas, and offensive lineman Willie Road.
