South Carolina's Emmanwori named a First Team Associated Press All-American, Kennard lands on the AP Second Team

Nick Emmanwori has made rapid improvement in his first two seasons at South Carolina but now, his junior season has seen the Irmo product find another level.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina junior defensive back Nick Emmanwori has earned First Team All-America honors from the Associated Press.

The Irmo graduate led the Gamecocks with 83 tackles which was 10th in the SEC this season.

He averaged 3.0 tackles for loss while leading the SEC with four interceptions, returning two for touchdowns.

Emmanwori has already been named First Team All-SEC and a Second Team All-American by the Football Writers Association of America.

Senior edge rusher Kyle Kennard, who recently announced he is declaring for the NFL Draft, was named a Second Team Associated Press All-American.

This past season, he  recorded 15.5 tackles for loss including 11.5 sacks during the 2024 season. Both marks led the Southeastern Conference and his sack total ranked sixth in the nation. His single-season sack total also ranks second in school history behind Jadeveon Clowney’s 13.0 in 2012, while his tackles for loss total is the school’s fourth-highest single-season mark.  

Kennard has already been named a First Team All-American by the AFCA and the Walter Camp Football Foundation.
