USC's 6 Wins Means a Darius Rucker Concert!

USC winning six games doesn't just mean they'll be going bowling. Fans will also get a Darius Rucker concert.

Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Remember when country music star (and Gamecock die-hard fan) Darius Rucker promised to perform a concert on USC's historic Horseshoe if USC won six games?

Well, the Gamecocks just held up their end of the bargain. So Mr. Rucker, get ready to serenade fans on your old stomping grounds.

The Gamecocks became bowl eligible with Saturday's 44-31 win over Western Carolina. Back in August, Rucker said that if the team won six games (USC, of course, was coming off a 3-9 year) he'd break out his guitar.

About an hour after the game ended, Rucker said the concert will happen, but fans will have to wait just a little bit. "Gonna be in the spring but will be free show for the university!!. Excited and happy."

That follow what USC coach Will Muschamp said after the game, when he confirmed the concert, and USC President Harris Pastides, who wrote on Twitter, "Six wins means a bowl game and a Darius concert. What a day!"

Rucker attended USC and came to stardom in the 1990s with his band Hootie & the Blowfish. He's since gone on to become a successful country artist.
